I have found a wealth of statistical information relating to art and culture on the ABS website.

We can use this as our second method of research, we still need 2 more.

As Bridgette suggested visual analysis/observation might be another and focus groups I think will be helpful as well.

This has state by state downloads of figures relating to art galleries defined by lots of different variables. i have teh .xls file and I'll print out some parts for discussion on Saturday.
